Cruse Bereavement Care are holding a series of one-day workshops on Bereavement & Loss in Armagh (9th March), Belfast (15th & 22nd March), and L’Derry (29th March).
A typical workshop uses a variety of methods including PowerPoint presentation, personal reflection and group work. Examples of some of the subjects covered in the training include: Introduction to Bereavement, Impact of Bereavement, Phases of Grief, Factors Affecting Grief, Qualities of a Helper.
Belfast/L’Derry/Portadown/Enniskillen Workshops: Working with survivors of childhood sexual abuse

This workshop is for practising counsellors and student counsellors who have an interest in working in this area of therapeutic provision. The participants will gain a wider knowledge of the impact of childhood sexual abuse on the child and how this can manifest in later adulthood with debilitating and often crippling effect.
BACP Accredited Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Therapy

The Belfast Cognitive Therapy Centre (BCTC) has opened the application process for its two-year, part-time, BACP Accredited course in Cognitive Therapy starting in September 2010. BCTC will hold an information evening in Belfast on Thursday 4th March from 6:30-8:30pm consisting of a 90-minute PowerPoint presentation, outlining elements of the BCTC Diploma, Cognitive Therapy and career opportunities in Cognitive Therapy. Seminars are relaxed and informal and refreshments are available. Staff and present and former BCTC trainees meet with seminarians for informal discussion about the Diploma. A fee of £20 is payable.

Changes to BACP’s Ethical Framework

As of 1st February 2010, the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) have published several small, but significant, changes to the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling & Psychotherapy.
