BACP publish new online CPD module

BACP has published a new online CPD module entitled “Psychopharmacology and counselling and psychotherapy”.  This module forms a series of online CPD online learning modules for counsellors, psychotherapists and other psychological practitioners.

Professional Programme in Couple Counselling

The University of Ulster in partnership with Relate NI is offering an opportunity to individuals to undertake an innovative new course entitled “Professional Programme in Couple Counselling”  – with Relate NI providing the required voluntary placement of 75 hours supervised practice.

Male victims of domestic violence and abuse wanted for research

Deadline for participation now extended to end of May 2010

The Men’s Advisory Project (MAP) is a charity offering counselling for males experiencing domestic violence and abuse or relationship breakdown.

MAP is currently seeking adult male victims of domestic violence and abuse across Northern Ireland, to participate in confidential case study interviews to examine the experience and needs of this invisible population, with the aim of recommending improvements in service provision for these men.

Belfast Gestalt Institute: Workshops in Body Process 2010

Dying Matters Awareness Week

Dying Matters is a broad based and inclusive national coalition of just under 7000 members, which aims to change public knowledge, attitudes and behaviours towards death, dying and bereavement.

Omagh Workshop: Thought Field Therapy

The Tara Centre in Omagh is running a FREE one-day workshop on Thought Field Therapy (TFT).

TFT is a safe, non-invasive and easily learned technique which can be used for the rapid and lasting relief of many forms of emotional and psychological distress. It was originally discovered and crafted by the distinguished American Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Roger Callahan, as a treatment for phobias. It has since been expanded to ease a wide variety of problems including stress and anxiety, panic attacks, grief, trauma and anger. It became the treatment of choice in dealing with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in Kosovo.

CORE IMS are holding a one-day workshop in Belfast on Tuesday 8th June 2010 on how to evaluate your therapy services using the CORE (Clinical Outcomes in Routine Evaluation) system.

The workshop, titled “Using CORE for Professional and Service Development”, is designed to help practitioners, supervisors, trainers and service managers to assess how the CORE System can contribute to their practice and service development. They also provide a useful refresher for newer staff of services already using CORE.
