  • Working towards a professional qualification in counselling or psychotherapy (at least last year of Diploma or equivalent)
  • Member of a professional body (BACP, IACP or equivalent)
  • Working towards accreditation with a professional body (BACP, IACP or equivalent)

Student Placements: Men’s Advisory Project (MAP)

MAP exists to provide counselling services for men experiencing domestic abuse. MAP accepts applications for volunteer counsellors who have an Advanced Diploma in Counselling, or DipHE (level 5), or are working towards this and in the second year of study. Practice Placements: Nexus Institute

The NEXUS Institute offers counselling placements to trainee counsellors to enable them to develop their skills through clinical practice. Placements must commit to a minimum of one year, for approximately four hours a week. The NEXUS Institute will provide professional supervision and additional training at minimum cost to placements.
