The Western Health & Social Care Trust is running a FREE two-day training course on Understanding Groups. It will be held at the Omagh Youth Centre on 13th & 14th October 2010.
The aim of this course is to promote effective work with groups based on the theoretical and practical understanding of what happens in them.

Quality Training UK have still some places available on the Post-Qualifying Diploma in Counselling Children & Young People running in September in Belfast.
The course is designed to encourage participants who have successfully undertaken a Diploma in Counselling, (minimum of 450 hours of training) and can show evidence of working in a professional capacity in the community, particularly with children or adolescents, to continue their professional and personal development in the field of counselling.
Due to popular demand, Nexus have added an additional date to their list of introductory workshops focusing on working with survivors of childhood sexual abuse. The workshop will be held on Friday 3rd September 2010 at 10am.
The INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR COGNITIVE THERAPY is now accepting applications for the Certificate and Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy held in Belfast at WEEKENDS.
The Certificate in CBT has consistently been ranked as “excellent” by nearly three hundred students who completed the course during the past four years. The training events will be presented by Sylvia Buet and Paul Quinn. Sylvia is a Psychologist accredited by the BABCP as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and BABCP accredited Trainer in CBT. Sylvia is also the Director of the International Institute for Cognitive Therapy.

The Northern Ireland Centre for Trauma & Transformation (NICTT) are offering a FREE training course on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in Belfast and L’Derry in June and September 2010.
This course is designed for practitioners working in the victims and mental health sectors voluntary and community in Northern Ireland who wish to know more about the impact of trauma on mental health.
SELF NI is pleased to be able to offer a one day workshop on Alcohol and Drugs Awareness on Saturday 15th May at Jury’s Hotel, Fisherwick Place, Great Victoria Street, Belfast.
Detailed information will be provided on key drugs and alcohol issues. An interactive workshop we will discuss many of the drugs used today including the long and short term effects and the implications of using these drugs for the individual, family and friends and the implications for using or selling these drugs and the law.

We reported in March that The Belfast Gestalt Institute is running a series of workshops in Body Process in Autumn 2010, including a two-day workshop on “Voice, Breath & Body Process” by Susan Gregory, and “Skills for Developing Embodied Awareness in Psychotherapy” by Michael Clemmens.

NEXUS are holding a series of one-day workshops on Friday 21 May, Friday 28 May, and Friday 18 June respectively.
This workshop is for practising counsellors and student counsellors who have an interest in working in this area of therapeutic provision. The participants will gain a wider knowledge of the impact of childhood sexual abuse on the child and how this can manifest in later adulthood with debilitating and often crippling effect.
