Counsellor Required to Work for a Public Sector Charity for an initial Four Month Contract with Possibility of this role being made Permanent

Essential Criteria:

1.Diploma in Counselling awarded by a recognised course

2. Accreditation secured or in process from the British Association of Counselling and Psycho Therapy [BACP]

3. Drivers licence – the successful candidate will be required to work between three office locations and need to be flexible in this respect

4. 6 months paid counselling experience working with offenders/individuals with addictions

Desirable Criteria:

1. 2 years paid counselling experience working with offenders/individuals with addictions

2. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Training

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive treatment sessions for clients
• The programme is based on a psychotherapeutic model inclusive of a CBT approach
• Liaison with other statutory and voluntary service providers as required
• Attend training courses to develop skills as required
• Contribute to case discussion for the counselling staff
• Contribute to seminar presentations
• Keep up to date with research literature and developments in the addiction field
• Maintain accurate and up to date records of work undertaken
• Participate in individual supervision as required by the organisation
• Contribute to the collation of statistical data for use in planning and monitoring of services
• Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies
• Participate in strategy meetings, case discussions, and case conferences and provide reports as required.
• Provide a monthly report on work for the director and any other reports as required
• Assist with the ongoing development of appropriate referrals to the service
• Present information about the service to stakeholders as required
• Contributing to training courses as required
• Comply with the policies and procedures of the organisation
• Undertake any other duties as specified by the director

Hours: 36 hours per week

[Monday-Thursday 8.40am-5pm Friday 8.40am-1pm]

Salary: £22,187 per annum (pro rata)
