COPE – Community Outreach Project to Ethnic minorities
A new community project is being launched in style by Stadium Projects in partnership with New Life City Church and will be based at the City Life Centre in Northumberland Street. COPE stands for Community Outreach Project to Ethnic minorities.
The special Launch Day will be Saturday 5th June in the grounds of City Life Centre from 12 noon to 4 pm. The day will include an International Food Fair with various cultural foods on offer. There will also be supervised fun activities, including bouncy castles and face painting etc for children. There will also be team building challenges for adults, supervised by the Belfast Activity Centre (BAC), besides macho challenges for men and pamper sessions for women.
The event will conclude in the evening with a formal launch within City Life Centre beginning at 7 pm. This programme will be lively and will include African dancing and singing, Polish music and singing, a young African band called “The Hickies”, a street dance routine by local young people from Falls and Shankill, a presentation of Nancy in Oliver by a young rising star in New Life City Church, and an amazing “on the spot” artistic presentation by Marc Eckel who paints on a blank canvas with his hands. The theme for the day will be “Celebrating Cultural Diversity”.
