Cognitive Therapy Training in Belfast
The INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR COGNITIVE THERAPY is now accepting applications for the Certificate and Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy held in Belfast at WEEKENDS.
The Certificate in CBT has consistently been ranked as “excellent” by nearly three hundred students who completed the course during the past four years. The training events will be presented by Sylvia Buet and Paul Quinn. Sylvia is a Psychologist accredited by the BABCP as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and BABCP accredited Trainer in CBT. Sylvia is also the Director of the International Institute for Cognitive Therapy.
The Certificate course consists of 10 days of training, taught at weekends, starting in September 2010 in Belfast. The course is for those who have none or a minimal amount of previous formal training in CBT. This Certificate in CBT will contribute towards meeting the minimum training requirements of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) for accreditation.
The International Institute for Cognitive Therapy is also offering a comprehensive training programme for those who wish to enhance their knowledge and skills in CBT. The Diploma in CBT are for those students who have a good foundation in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. It is possible to enroll in different modules of the Diploma as workshops.
Each 2-day workshop (modules of the Diploma in CBT) is taught at weekends, once a month from September 2010 until April 2011. It is important for mental health professionals to receive training on a regular basis. Many professional bodies such as the Irish College of Psychiatrists, BABCP, BACP,IACP, etc. require that practising members spend a minimum of 30 hours per year in CPD activities. In order to attend these workshops an intermediate level of CBT knowledge and skill is assumed. These are the topics you can now study:

4- CBT for Social Anxiety
5- CBT for Panic Disorder and Agoraphobia
6- CBT for PTSD: A new Heuristic PTSD Assessment model to maximise treatment Effectiveness
7- CBT for Health Anxiety (1-day training)
8- CBT for Generalised Anxiety Disorder
9- CBT for Personality Disorders (1 day-training)
